590 = 80% performance of 2x 580 in SLI.

So, let's do the math.

Out of that 1100$, you basically come out with 110$ per 10% of performance.

So, based on that scale ~ 80% would be about 880$

Meaning he's saving 140$ for the performance he receives from the card, gets a limited edition release AND has managed to save @ 360$ for 20% performance.

Where's the discussion?

Performance or how 360$ does NOT worth 20% more performance?

Again, how he chooses to spend his money, is his business.
Masked, it's painfully obvious that there's no going around how other people are going to try to dictate or opine on how other people spend their money or what their needs are.

It's ultimately going to come down to the person making that purchasing decision.

Just let it go; I have people trying to tell me that I should be QQ'ing about how my 590 doesn't equal the performance of 2x580s in SLI while costing $300 less or how I can't hit 900mhz on air like I actually need it for a single monitor setup. I don't think I ever once have gone into an ATi thread and spouted on about how my 470s AND 480s in SLI were better at this or that than their ATi counterparts, etc.

Enjoy whatever you have and keep gaming with it; the only time I upgrade is when there's something am playing that isn't up to a level i am satisfied with, and not because other people own other cards that can OC this much or that much or what have you. That, or, when the heat/noise/power consumption of 2x480s in SLI is finally getting to you, you don't want to upgrade your case to support watercooling them, and yet you don't want to buy 2x580s in SLI for the same reasons...at least that's why I went my route, and I honestly could not be happier.

Get a 6990, put it on water and have an ungodly card....or just get SLI 580 if you can't see past brand loyalty

A single GTX 590 destroys GTX 480 Triple SLi?

I'll have what he's smoking..

My GTX 480 Triple SLi ANNIHILATES a GTX 590. It's virtually twice as powerful.

Don't worry. Some 590 owners are on the edge a bit lately. When everyone, everywhere, is telling you that your latest toy, that you bought for 700$, is ''FAIL'', will ''blow black smoke'' ''is a joke'' ''worst card launch EVER'' ''590 = FAIL'', you can't just sit there and take it all. You have to stand-up and fight Kung-Fu style.

You see always the same 3 or 4 590 owners shooting in every directions and in every threads about the 590, to justify and explain why the card is not so bad.

Strange, but bold.

Absolutely incorrect.

On a 980x platform the scaling was horrible.

I saw LESS performance in DX 10/11 games from 3x480's then I do with a 590 at 750mhz...

Do the tests yourself...Are some benches with the comparison.

[H]'s recent review proves me correct as well.

And what counter argument? I wasn't aware I was "arguing" with anyone in particular in this thread; I responded to a claim about my card potentially melting, and mentioned that that's not an issue anymore.

Really, spewing "garbage," when I actually own the card? The only garbage that's in 590 threads are from the exact same 2-3 people who don't actually own the cards, regurgitating the same, mis-informed crap that's been around since launch.

Well that, and everyone with a sudden need to tell other people how to spend their money/how viable their purchasing decision was, as if THEY know what the personal needs were of that buyer.

Get off your high horse.
All I know is, I replied to two of your posts in two separate threads and you never bothered to reply. I think I also PM'd you.. which is low.

You're spewing garbage BECAUSE you own the card.
Unlike me, you haven't come to terms with how useless it is, comparatively.

Agreed.

GTX 590 thread = Crysis 2 thread.

And if you make a thread saying how they're the same.. that's also a bad idea.
