2500k damaged or hate me ?

Thread Starter
Overclocking my 2500k has been fun, but no matter what I do I can't get over 4.7. I can get 4.7 on 1.32 on the v-core but no voltage i try can get me stable at 4.8. It also only fails on the first core. I know when overclocking my q6600 it would fail on different cores. Could there be something wrong with my cpu?

How do you know it fails on a specific core?

How high have you tried? You might need 1.425v-1.45v for anything higher.

But even then, 4.7Ghz is an excellent overclock.

rounding errors are usually always due to insufficient voltage...

go up in vcore. I bet that will solve it

If you can't get to 5.0Ghz on 1.47v, I'd say you just have a 'bad' chip.

Although, if want to call a 4.7Ghz chip 'bad', that's not my business.

No I don't think it is a bad chip. I was just wandering why it would get to 4.7Ghz then say screw it I'm taking my ball and going home.
