Spec:

i5-2500K
MSI P67A-GD55 Intel P67 (REV B3)
Sapphire HD 6950 (which I will hopefully unlock to a 6970)
4GB Mushkin Blackline #996659B (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz
OCZ GameXStream 850W
OCZ 60GB Vertex 2E SSD 2.5" SATA-II
Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache
Coolermaster CM 690 II Advanced

I went with the 850w PSU as I would like to get another 6950 for crossfire at some point in the future. Please let me know what you think

That 60 gb will be a tight squeeze especially if you install some basic Apps on it. If you can go for an 80 its much more comfortable in the long run since Windows has several Cancerous files that just increase in size by time and can get quite tedious to deal with.

Also, could we know what you'll be using the computer for? If it is for general multi-purpose use and gaming, you're looking fine otherwise you may need some tweaks.

Forget SLI or crossfire with that board cause PCI-E 16x slot #2 runs at only 4x. For the same price you probably could get a P67A-GD55 from MSI which I really like (nice color theme and Click Bios, etc.) and it runs at 8x/8x which is the minimum (for me at least) for SLI/CF. Other things look pretty good though, maybe larger SSD if you can and OCZ's PSUs from older generations are known for not being extremly reliable but I don't know if this one also has problems. Rest is great.

thanks, i will def get the P67A-GD55 as it is included on another bundle i was looking at and is £10 cheaper too

i'll take your advice about a larger ssd too

about the PSU though, it seems to be way more expensive for the full modular one... do i really need that? any recommendations on best value PSUs would be very welcome

yeah, i'll see what i can find in the SSD department. just a shame they are so expensive lol.

I'll just be using this for gaming, internet and word processing really. It's obviously the gaming capabilities i'm trying to maximise in this build

Alright, so if you can afford it, get two 500gb HDs instead and RAID 0 them, it will give you a much faster set up, but keep in mind, the reliability is halved.

If that 1tb is for storage purely, then don't go RAID 0.
