HD6970 Temp Concern - Page 5

Idle at 60'C + with 0% usage, there is a problem with the GPU heatsink may be not mounted properly.

I'm having a room temp 27-30'C, Top card idle at 45-48'C and bottom 2nd GPU is 43'C. Top is sucking some hot ambient temp off my 2nd GPU that is why it is higher. But that's normal.

At load max I've seen both card sit at 74'C with a room temp slightly increased to 38'C.

I don't think so, it's just the simple fact that the default fan profile that comes with Catalyst favors noise over heat dissipation.

Also the fact that my room can reach 30C, but that's the extreme.

The idle before MSI AB was:

49-51C @ 28% fan speed
80-95C (&sometimes even higher but it never broke 100C) @ 65%??
It did not like to turn the fan up I swear, it always seemed pretty quiet.
I ran it like this for 100's of hours.

Now I'm getting standard temps albeit with much higher fan RPM.

My single 6970 idles at 40-43 and under load in graphic intense game it will get to 62 and this is in eyefinity. Single monitor only it was much lower idle temps.

Thanks but that basically tells us nothing, what are your ambients, is your ac constantly on, and what are your fan stages(if any?).
