Ah I thought 2014 was the support end date for all versions. Thanks for clearing it up

I don't get the Vista hate. Corporate wise it was bad yes because of compatibility with 3rd party programs, but personal use it was way better then XP. XP was good for a while, but it's ancient now, time for Win7 to take over.

I hear they'll support it after 2014 for a price. Also, for Wells Fargo to keep XP it would cost $250k a year to keep support for XP from Microsoft. Which is why Wells Fargo is starting the switch over to Win7. Then again they have ~250k PCs.

And just who are they are and why do they think they know anything.

http://whois.domaintools.com/statcounter.com

A dublin ireland business. That does microsoft only domain tools that also owns A_________.___

and
B________.___

Seriously. This is a nothing company with nothing tools trying to provide comprehensive statistics. They've changed their ip address and history stuff so often they could be easily labeled homeless trash.

And another crazy story in the news. 23 billion dollar microsoft can't repatriate any cash borrows 6.5 billion from bond market over the last 3 years and has story written up about how they cost people 500 billion dollars a year. What we have hear is a bunch of people so numb to numbers you might as well inject somoenes tongue full of novacaine slather some novacaine gell all over their face and ask them to taste test the new pepsi.

And the invisible tracker thing is funny too. It smacks of religions man behind the curtain, invisible ascended masters that someone controlling things when everyone and everything is right in front of your face.

http://statcounter.com/free_invisible_web_tracker.html

Oh here's their very reasonable explanation of their business model. Go ahead and laugh. I did.
http://statcounter.com/why_is_it_free.html

Oh and ya there's 30 whole dedicated servers out there counting beans. So you know the soup is good.

Plus you have to download and insert the java script into your website. Though It's invisible after you do. And once they download the invisible code their computers will report back to you if they are accessing it in their web browser cache.

Oh and check out their forum. There's 46 people on it right now and it's a whole in the wall compared to overclock.net. Even though they have as much as 15 times the servers of OCN. LOL

After initial updates and service packs Vista was a superior OS to XP. Too bad it was too many yahoos on the internet that bashed Vista when it came out and never gave it a reprieve. I definitely don't think Vista was worse than Millennium.

Linux is not user friendly, has a very limited range of applications, very limited compatibility with most hardware, usually requires a tech savvy person to be operated, and is associated with hackers....

Yeah... I wonder why. Also, it is not sold on retail laptops and desktops.

This is kind of off topic but what if someone made a computer that was very heavy on voice control. Kind of like the siri phone app except for applications and functions. For example you could be typing an essay and say "open an email to send to john" and then it would open your email and open a blank message to john on your contacts. That would be tight!

LOL WHAT?

Linux can easily be most user friendly operating system. My grandma has a net book with a small linux distro and easily learned basic computer tasks that would have been impossible for her on any other operating system.
