Want to try SLI...

For no reason other than it's nerdy and sounds like fun.

I'm going to be upgrading my sig rig soon, since I'm starting to really feel the limitations of this one, and I figured this would be a good time to try SLI. For starters, I'm replacing the cpu/mobo with a 2600k and an appropriate board (I suspect my current cpu holds me back a bit in gaming anyways). After playing with an SSD when setting up a friends computer, that will be coming too.

Am I better off adding another 560 TI twin frozr 2? Or should I consider getting two brand new cards? Or, one much better card and use the 560 TI for phys-x?

I game on a 23" monitor at 1080p, though I'd love to expand in the near future after the rest of the system is built.

Yeah that's what I hear and I want to try it!

Just not sure if another 560ti is gonna give me the full experience, or if I should just buy two entirely new cards and let my girlfriend inherit the old 560.

plan on buying a new monitor in the nearest future?

I play at 1080p on a 23" monitor. My current system can play most games I've tried at really high settings, (GTA4, JC2, Mafia 2, Crysis, WoWlol), though sometimes I get some framerate issues which I figure could be fixed with both a high-end CPU and an SLI setup.

An additional monitor is definitely on the horizon too, though as a late-summer purchase.

Two 560s will do 1080p better than a single 580. Hell even two 460s will. Two 560s will handle two screens just fine too.

Hahaha, if I didn't have a tech bench I'd shove my system in a C64 case. Just need to sell my real rig, but I might need it for money as the military isn't getting paid, they passed that bill, but it still screws up my pay.

I was thinking of doing two 560's also. . . I ended up getting a 580.

Now I have a 560 sitting in my closet
