You mean like a $50 video card?

8800GTS 512MB, a decent C2D, and 3GB of ram is enough to max it @1280x1024......yea the game was fun for awhile, but after overclocking every rig and sleeping with all the girls, there was no reason to live anymore

I know for a fact that my video card is like the older GeForce 8400 GS since according to the specs they are really similar to it. I wish I can upgrade to something like the GeForce 9800 or better that would be nice. But oh well. But also I' am in a tight budget so even if I can upgrade my video card it would have to cost at most $100. But I think the 9800 would be nice enough. I know that my video card is alot better than the GeForce 7300 GT that has 512mb since when I played the same games on both my Intel HD performed alot better and had more FPS than the GeForce 7300 GT. Basicly as I said my card is like the GeForce 8400 GS.

Anyways The Sims 3 is a cool game but The Sims 2 has alot more expansion packs so it's funner. I can say that if I started to collect The Sims 2 game now it will be alot cheaper than before since The Sims 2 games are older than The Sims 3 games.

I can max out for The Sims 2 game meaning have eveything on highest settings and get good FPS. I guess The Sims 2 doesn't use as much graphics as The Sims 3. For The Sims 3 highest I can go that is playable is med but I prefer playing on low since then I get even more FPS and it will be more smoother.

I'm a big player of the game. I haven't been playing it too much recently though.

I disagree. The changes to the third are more than welcome. The open world, create-a-style, and other small improvements go a long way. There's some things still lacking, namely, interactions/activities, but it sound like the next two expansion packs will get those more up to speed. The second feel so old fashioned and lacking now.

By the way, some of you would be surprised at how much horsepower the game could use. While it doesn't take much to run or maximize it, due to the engines complexity (and maybe inefficiency?), it takes alot to get stutter free performance at high settings, resolutions, etc., with alot going on.

Try not to double post so much please.

Anyway, on this site, those who like the Sims is few and far between. Clearly they're out there, but a majority of the people who game here are into shooters and what can push their hardware. Sims 3 isn't that game.

As for me? When ever I can play it I like it, but I only have the iPhone version, which is poor compared to the PC version. Oh well...

Oh, and I like the PC version, that's what I meant.

The Sims 3 might not be as graphical as Crysis 2 but still it's pretty good. But I bet you guys have a nice computer so you can play at highest settings with shader model 3.0 or more on The Sims 3 game since if you can play Crysis 2 on high then sure The Sims 3 can play on high.
I kinda disagree there. I still play it from time to time, and it is a fun game, but I think the graphics are just a bit meh. It's to be expected really. It's more of a casual game than anything, and high graphics requirements kind of kills that market.

Heeh, nothing wrong with the game, but I doubt anyone in a hardcore enthusiast pc gaming forum would talk about casual games lol

Maybe the graphics of The Sims 3 is sorta like StarCraft 2 since when alot is going on it lags like in StarCraft 2 when big battles are going on it lags in The Sims 3 when you are in the middle of town with alot of people it lags too.
