Those are the ONLY minor/nit-picky faults I can find with it.

This or the nzxt phantom

Thinking about grabbing this case in the next month. Looks like it will be a tremendous improvement over my 4yr old case.

hey guys, I want to change 3 140mm fans and 1 120mm fan from my raven case since they are loud to me. good air flowing, quite like noctua fans but not that expensive. It would be awesome if there are soft light led ( prefer white) Please help me out, I'll thank yo.

Mini-necro!

So I've been considering doing a rebuild in this case. I skimmed through most of this thread and definitely appreciate the info (+reps), but I still have a few questions.

I've seen it mentioned that the Raven's vertical positioning of the GPUs primarily benefits external exhaust cards. Is there any way to quantify this statement though?

Do internal exhaust cards actually run warmer (due to the positive pressure and being mounted higher)?

Would a reference card in a raven case (default fan config) run cooler than a Twin Frozr 2/3? Or do both setups benefit, with the reference cards seeing a larger drop?

This review makes it seem like the Raven's GPU cooling capabilities would actually be a slight downgrade from a phantom, which is kind of disappointing. Are there any reviews which compare multi card cooling in similar fashion?

Also how is the fan controller? Can you access it without having to remove that top plastic cover? The Phantom has 5-fan sliders built in, which gives a ton of flexibility. Would I have to install an aftermarket controller for the Raven to get similar performance?

Thanks.

I believe Juano posted a link somewhere in this thread that showed the temps for different types of VGA cooling designs, in both a 90* case, and the case rotated. But i can't seem to find it in my history ATM(i never delete my browser history).

The fan controller can be accessed easily without removing anything, so long as the front I/O port's cover isn't open all the way. But the two switches only control the voltage of the AP181's, and are built into the fan. So you would have to buy an after market fan controller if you want to control other fans. I'm currently set on the getting the Sunbeam Rheosmart 6 once i get my shipment of GT-2150's. Its very cheap, and AFAIK if used with SpeedFan, can automatically control all of your case fans based on any temps you want(with fan curves). Here are the cheapest prices i know of for your convenience:

Are these reference VGAs?
Also, you have to do something to that fan controller. Doesn't look like it belongs there at all biggrin.gif

My Rv3 should arrive in 2 weeks frown.gif

yep they are stock xfx hd 4890s. The fan controller looks fine, the raven's front panels are slightly protruding so if you put anything in the front bays it sits a bit further back, My DVD is stealthed behind one of the drive bays but obviously you can't do it with a fan controller so you have no choice if you want to use one in the Raven.

Long time no post!

I installed a sound card to get the most out of my new headphones (Xonar DX and ATH-AD700, so so so nice!) 2 days ago and decided to do some wire management yesterday since the sound card needs a power connector and I had to use one from my baggie of modular cables. You may ask what the heck that has to do with anything, well the molex connector for my fans on the H60 had a pin come loose that I did not notice. Actually, that is something of a lie, I noticed it when I heard a clicking noise from my case while playing BF3 and I saw that the fans weren't spinning, man the block on the poor H60 was hot! As feared, the poor H60 bit the dust, I went and picked up a H100 this morning at fry's since I could not afford the downtime that comes with ordering online.

PRE_2011-11-29-131002.jpg

As you can see it is not possible to mount an optical drive along with the H100, not a biggie to me since I haven't needed an optical drive once since I bought the case.

Edit: I have it mounted using just one of the plastic drive bay holders on the bottom. I am very happy with my new temps.

Edit 2: Currently my 955BE @4ghz, idles at 35c, running prime95 it maxes out at 49c.
