I ran 11.2 in that pic. I'm about to get 11.4 right now. 11.3 was giving me some issues with BFBC2. Anyway, I've got my CCC limits unlocked via this 6950 bios that comes with a stock 1.75v so lots of headroom to overclock the core without needing afterburner. The rest of the stuff is stock 6950 specs except the unlocked shaders.

I'm assuming this only works on a Xfire'd setup?

Quite a nice collection:)

Hey guys quick question regarding the Twin Frozr III 6950 I will quote it from the other thread:

But I found this:

Temps:http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1596910

Quote:
.)To answer my own question (in case it benefits anyone else) I picked up two Twin Frozr III's and I'm seeing 90c temps / 100% fan on the inside card. So no way these work for crossfire w/o some spacing between the cards.

I'm trying downclocking them now to reference 6950 speeds to see if that helps at all. So far after 5 min in BF2 the inside card is 79c (with the case open). Doesn't look good.

Unlockability:http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=672911

Quote:
.)THIS CARD WON'T UNLOCK PERIOD!!! This is a non-reference card so sorry but you are COMPLETELY out of luck. This card uses a custom MSI PCB which improves overclocking but disables unlocking the GPU. There is only 1 BIOS, not 2. Sorry for the bad news, but this wasn't a secret that this card couldn't be unlocked so don't go blaming MSI. It will overclock though far so try to get it to 1ghz to make up for the lack of unlocking. The cooler is also much better.

.)You guys don't understand that a REFERENCE 2gb model is the ONLY 6950 that will unlock. No other will if it's 1gb or a non-reference card. It must look like this with 2gb of VRAM. Otherwise it won't unlock period.

.)This is incorrect information so please refer to my previous post. It all depends on if the GPU has been laser cut or not; results are mixed for non-reference and 1GB PCBs.

So according to the red colored statement of the thread not every card is bound to just unlock or not it is rather a bit of a gamble if the concerned card has been laser cut or not.
So there are branches that were and others that weren´t laser cut by AMD so the odds of any 6950 unlocking depens on the possibility of it having been laser cut or not...according to the thread.

But according to techpower up MSI does have a high unlocking probability due to their tested cards (although I am not sure the numbers shown in the picture include the Twin Frorz III).So is the statement coming from the thread nonsense?Or did techpowerup just review cards of a branch that just wasn´t laser cut?

No, there are instructions there for a single card setup too.

That is actually very unsusal for ref cards?
At this point only the Twin Frozr III & ASUS DCUII 6950 easily hit the 1 GHZ and above without any voltage tweak..did you achieve your clocks without voltage intererence?

Pretty cool to see the card keeps so cool too:)

Hey There! Thanks for taking the time to make a thread like this +rep!

Having said that, I'm rocking 3x Gigabyte 6950's Reference Unlocked to Sapphire Reference 6970 bios OC'd with +20% power from AMD Overdrive and 950 clock speeds on all 3 cards in trifire. I have to run the fans at 100% speed when I game to keep my bottom card at 78c. The other 3 run in the mid 60's. (Largely because the exhaust from my PSU is going STRAIGHT into the bottom card, FAIL) Anyways, I'm watercooling now just waiting for parts to come in. These are the numbers I'm currently getting atm.
Also all my settings are with everything maxed as high as possible.

BF:BC2 = 120+ average minimum is around 80 on REALLY heavy spikes in explosions (Like 2 mortar strikes and 3 guys shooting with a tank and heli shooting in front of me kind of stuff, very very rare) usually above that though everything maxed. 1680x1050 res single monitor 120 FPS monitor btw. Also when I fraps at 60FPS (And it never budges) it's 120 on the playback, totally smooth. While playing it's hardcapped at 60, ok, but I also keep vsync on for that.

RIFT = 80ish on a good day, average is around 60. Trifire ATI cards do not even scale in this game yet. I run it on a single card and get the same results. There is also a self targeting bug at the moment where if you target your own char, then your FPS drops to around 33 and the Xfire GPU usage skyrockts to 99% until you untarget your char and alt - tab. Garbage. Drivers are great it's a TRION/RIFT problem not ATI fyi.

CSS of course it's like 999 or w/e never ever drops, but it's the HL2 engine lol.

Metro 2033 around 90ish average frequent dips to around 70.

Add me on dropbox (PM me for the info) and I will fraps any game you like and share it with you in the dropbox interface (It's super handy) for anyone that needs something tested.

Thanks!
