i7 2600K 2nd core runs 10C hotter ? - Page 2

My first core is usually around 10c cooler than the rest :l

My friends 2500K is exactly the same too.. I'd try remounting the cooler but I'm far to lazy Temps are fine anyway..

Its normal nothing to worry, always the middle core's run hotter.

My 1st and 3rd cores run ~4c warmer than the others at idle. Full load they're all within 1c of each other though.

Same issue here... I was worried as well and reverted to standard speeds (3.5-3.8) with TB because of it. Didn't notice any differences in gaming or development at stock vs OC I must admit. It's just nice to know that if I ever need more juice out of the CPU, I can do so easily enough.

At 4.2Ghz (1.225v), I only go up 5c in temps and 2-3c in idle since it stays at 4.2ghz instead of 1.6ghz.

But since I always read that I should base my readings on the hottest core, I thought I'd be safer at stock speeds.

After reading this thread, I feel a lot better now about one core being 8c hotter though (while stress testing) -- seems like it's a somewhat common occurence

Guys, use Real Temp 3.67.

Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?n99nq4kn95u6i6a

I found previous versions would give me inaccurate readings. This version gives my temps within 5c of each other.

my core 2 is 6-8 degrees cooler than the others no problem right?
Just bumping so perfectly normal that my 3rd core runs 10C hotter than the rest right?

My other 3 cores are 1C-2C apart, figured it was the TIM. So I reapplied some Arctic Silver 5 and got same results in temps.
