Someone mentioned that monitor I listed in the thread. I was just responding with interest.

Also was looking for input on the monitor the OP had chosen.

Don't get fooled by the whole 30" IPS debate.

What you won't hear is:

1.) getting the 30" caused my performance to suffer, higher resolution and all.

2.) After gaming over an hour I was getting bad eye strain and fatigue. It's just too big and bright, even after toning down the brightness (gets too dark). I couldn't care less about colour reproduction if I'm hurting.

3.) The purple that appears when black colours are displayed.

4.) Startup, monitor needs to warmup for like 10 minutes before it starts going. In that time lines appear and other distortions.

4.) Did I say it hurt when gaming over an hour

IPS suck for gaming in my book, period.

Stick to TN.

And this is from first hand experience.
Purple instead of black? Distortions in the first 10 mins? Your monitor was faulty man.

I've had a 22" TN, 23" e-IPS, and my current 32" IPS.

I LOVE my current monitor, I'm an absolute nut for quality, and while mine isn't the best out there obviously, it's pretty damn good, and using a TN panel now is impossible for me. It's horrendous.

I really considered the
LG E2370V-BF, since its one of the few monitors that has been labeled a "gaming Monitor" with an IPS panel ( or any panel other than TN).
It nice and thin and it has LED. One of my main gripes with LED is the uneven back-lighting. But it saves alot of power and is reasonably cheap.

It has the same panel as the HP ZR22W, S-IPS. Its not too bright which is good, but I'm just not sold on it. There hasn't been a detailed review out on the monitor that I could find. It just came out in Jan 2011 but it doesn't have a Display Port either (Just a quip).

Another +1 for the U2311H. Bought one about 2 months ago and I'm seriously tempted to get another. No noticeable ghosting or input lag to report from mine, and i tested with a high speed camera xD.

I haven't noticed the purple issue people have been mentioning, but i have the newer A01 version, so that might explain it.

A friend of mine bought the 27" version about half a year ago and found it had MASSSIVE input lag issues, so i was a little worried about picking this one up, but he was around the other day and had a play on the 23, said he loved it.

Seems that the Asus MS246H has the best input lag time and the viewsonic VX2739wm has the best response time at 1ms and trails the Asus input lag by less than 3ms. Hmmm...not sure which to go with.
