Putting receiver ontop of sub woofer?

I have a A2-300 Elemental Design sub and deciding to put my Onkyo ht-RC260 on top of it. If the receiver doesn't move/ slid off, any negatives of doing this?

I have the same sub, and I am doing the same thing. The huge sub is like an end table! Over the few months I have had it set up like that, I have had no problems.

Thank you and I will do the same! It is a shame to not use the massive space it takes up

You open yours up and add pollyfill and egg cartons to it? I did SHHH they don't know that and it REALLY opens up the low end and eliminates all peaky sounds that happens in a room. The quality on it is VERY nice but I still get some port noise or something weird when playing under 28Hz.

Haha, I did the same thing. Just make sure it doesn't get tipped over. Do you know how to do a subwoofer crawl and take SPL measurements? The weird noise could be a product of room interaction issues.

I'd feel weird putting anything electronic on top of a subwoofer. Personal opinion, though.

Hell i have my Jbl's on top of my subs and on top of one of the JBL's i have my DVR and amp. The hdd in the DVR is still going strong so solid state components should be fine forever.

Should be fine as long as the sub is shielded.

Not saying anything will go wrong but in my opinion even though it should not effect solid state components themselves it could over time effect solder joints and such. Then again what do I know

Depends on the quality of the item you are putting up there. If its well made than those effects will take a long long time to set in.
