Why would you spread the thermal material with a finger in the first place? This is doing it wrong. All you have to do is put a small dot in the centre of the CPU, and then attach your sink, torque it down, remove sink and check coverage, and if its good, replace the sink onto the cpu and go with it. its real simple.

Sorry for the double post. it would not cause air bubbles, because once heated, it spreads over the whole chip and sink.

He left out that he cleans it between each attempt . That's what I usually do to judge how much but now I've done It that Many times on the i7 I'm pro!!!

I use non-latex powder free gloves and tear the fingers off. The non-latex gloves tear easy and they have no texture like the latex gloves do (I wear gloves at work so I've become very picky).

Don't use powdered for obvious reasons, and don't use textured.

5 dots like the "5" side of a dice, and spread it all evenly with firm slow pressure.
