Can I run an ATI HD 4650 or a Nvidia 9800gt on a 305 watt PSU?

I know these cards need a 400watt supply but I read in a lot of forums that a 300watt supply can do the job too. So i'll just drop in my specs and let me know if i can run any of these cards. I am using a Dell E521.tongue.gif
I have a :
AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800+
2 x 512 MB RAM (NANYA - http://www.nanya.com)
Max power output 305 watt supply (DELL)
Seagate 160GB SATA HDD @7200RPM + 500 GB Transcend(External) @ 5400RPM

I think thats about it.If you want any more details let me know I'll search and let you know.confused.gif

I think thats cutting it real close ( on a no name psu)

I would say you would be better off with a quality 350w-400w psu( imo) for a 4650

You'll need a quality 400 watt to run both.

The HD4650 will be no problem, but the 9800GT draws more power and also needs 6-pin power from the PSU.

The 4650 should work with that psu. A 9800GT would definitely be pushing it too far though. The 4670s were known for their great performance/power so the 4650 is gonna have pretty modest requirements as well. I'd get a 4670 if possible (though I'm not sure what you're actual use for this machine)
