Q9450 low-ish GFLOPS?

Thread Starter
Last night I ran the Intel Burn Test on my Q9450.

Stress level high (had 3 gigs free, used 2)
Ran the CPU at 2.66 and 3.2
4 GB DDR2 reapers @ 5-5-5-18, 4-4-4-15 and 4-4-4-12

At 2.66 and 5-5-5-18, the Gflops were ~30. At 3.2 with 4-4-4-15 the Gflops averaged 35.537 after 10 runs. At 4-4-4-12, the Gflops actually dropped to 34.9.

I've searched some other topics and at slightly higher clocks people have been able to reach 50+ gflops with this processor... so what can I do to raise my gflops? If more information is needed I'll be happy to oblige.

That's because of Nvidia chipset, for some reason boards with those always get much lower Gflop scores than Intel chipset boards.

This! I would like to see THIS. I reached average 51,x Gflops.
But this was with my Q9550@3,75GHz and RAM@1470Mhz.
If you want i can do some runs @3,2GHz to compare...but i really doubt that i will get much better results than you. And never 50ish...
BTW i got "intel inside" no nvidia chipset...

3.2 GHz isn't quite enough for 50 Gflops even with a P45 board, mine does bit over 45 Gflops at 3.2. It takes about 3.5 GHz to get over 50 Gflops with my Q9550 system.

Here's the post that got a Q9450 between 49.9 and 50.9 (at 3.6 Ghz):

I figured that it'd be difficult to reach 50 with this processor, and I don't wish to get that high, but I would like to get above 35. I managed to get a 35.637 with the memory at 4-3-3-8, but it was unstable. Comparing my results to the Gflops info thread, a Q6600 at 3.2 Ghz nets more gflops... So I believe the nVidia chipset to be at fault here. Thanks for the help guys
