Jumping in the water

Thread Starter
What blocks and whatnot should I look at if I'm jumping in water?

I need to know what's the best for ever thing from pumps, to res', to blocks and rads.

I'd like to WC my CPU and GPU's pending the trade of my GPU's for reference ones. I think I'm switching to a Corsair 800D and I'd prefer not to cut the top for a 480 rad.

EDIT1:
Will this backplate fit reference 570's?
Should I go for the Nickel or the normal copper version of this block?
Where can I find stiff SLI fittings for two of those blocks. The cards are in slot 2 and 4 so they're together.
I should also keep all metals the same in my loop right?
Also, best 360 rad to cool CPU and both GPUs and which fans? (Is there a case that would hold a 480 easily?)

What all are you wanting to WC? CPU only?

Depends on if you want silence or overclocking or some size requirements. If youre case (which I don't believe it can without modding) can fit internal water cooling, then do that. But it seems you need some external watercooling solution. Stay away from AIO kits. So what you need is either a rad stand or just external mount. External mount is cheap but no aesthetic appeal. Rad stand ranges from $30 to around $200, depending on how many rads you want and it requires copious amounts of tubing. I recommend the external mount but if you want a nice look, get an external mount from DD or my favorite the Mountain mods Pedestal 24. You can look into a single loop or a double loop. Single loop makes the most sense.

Look into:
Pump: Swiftech MCP 355
Pump Top: XSPC DDC top plus res
Res: as listed above or some fancy res
Radiator: XSPC rx 480 or HWLabs Black Ice gtx 480
Cpu block: XSPC rasa
GPU block (s): this is fun. If you plan on changing your hardware often, get a general purpose block like the MC80, but if not get a full cover gpu specific block. Like a koolance gtx 580/570 block(s). The general purpose block is far cheaper while giving similar performance and can be used over and over
Tubing: your choice really, I like the look of white priomfelx primochill
Pump stand: xspc has one, its pretty nice

Now securing the goods, you can either use compression fittings, which are cleaner and much nicer but costly, or go for barbs and clamps, cheaper but looks worse (or so I've heard).
Compression fitting: look for 1/2ID I suppose, best flow?
Barbs and Clamps: frozencpu has some for .99 and get some lamptron aluminum barbs. Remember their settings (1/2 ID to 1/2 barb) need to match.

Go to frozencpu or jab-tech. There are others but not too familar. I think theres crazy pc, performance pc, Danger Den has some too.
Jab-tech has a coupon is Facebook for 5% off.

If you need more info, lots of people will chime in. If you want to know the specifics I suppose ask one of the experts like CharlieHorse, everyone is really helpful.

Update: forgot, you can also get some kits like the ever popular XPSC rasa rx 360, its very effective if you don't wanna go full custom

Also forgot to mention rad fans. Look for high static pressure fans.
Look to either Gentle Typhoons for static pressure/sound pressure ratio
If you want cheap ones, get some high speed yates
If you want mid range look to Xigametk, gettin around 60-70cfm with 20-25dba
If you want expensive mega perfromance look into Delta's around the 200-250cfm range. but be warned, prepared to blow around $120-240 for a 480 rad.

Mmm, Juggalo, I haven't seen you in awhile. Is your guide up to date with the best shiznits?
