What is your maximum budget?
$700-$1000

What country are you in?
Canada

What will be the uses of this laptop?
Music, Movie/TV Streaming, basic java programming, word/excel/powerpoint, photoshop, browsing, some gaming

Do you have brand loyalty or care which brands we select for you?
Nope

What screen size do you require?
Probably 15', not too sure

What screen resolution do you require?
Not too sure

Are you looking to buy NEW or would refurbished/recertified/used be okay?
New

How long should the battery last? (Under optimal conditions, no movies/games/heavy internet)
At least 4 hours

What games would you like to play with your laptop? And on what settings?
TF2, CS 1.6 and SC2 on low and maybe Bad company 2 (probably not), League of Legends

What operating system do you need? (if any)
Windows 7

Is there a certain style of laptop you want? (aluminum, black, gaming, etc.)
nope

How much hard drive space do you need?
At least 500gb

Do you need any special hardware? (blue ray, webcam, specialty ports, etc.)
nope

Is there anything else we need to know?
nope

Thanks ^_^

edit:
I was looking at http://ncix.com/products/?sku=58136&...r&promoid=1312 , seems like a pretty good deal?

My two recommendations:

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16834152250
Good power in a nice package. Will allow you to play SC2 at ~160fps and BC2 on low with ~45fps. 17.3" so it may be a bit large for you and resolution is 1600*900.

Top end of your price range. Same hardware as the above laptop in a smaller package of 15.6". Also, screen resolution is 1080p so excellent pixel density here.

It's your pick.

The Mobility HD5870 is of course more powerful (about 60% more on average according to notebookcheck) than the GT425M so you'll definitely get more gaming performance, however, you'll see battery life plunge as a result of the more powerful hardware, however, this laptop DOES have a LARGER battery.

This one is also heavier and has a much lower screen resolution (1366*768) than the ones I listed so that's another thing to keep in mind.

Pros: higher performance, larger battery
Cons: lower screen res., heavier, sucks more power, no blu-ray drive

That MSI laptop looks like the best deal you could possibly get at the moment. Dual-core is more than enough for gaming and movies unless you do some heavy video encoding.

Unless you can find another deal that has the same specs with a 1080p res screen, I would go for the MSI. There aren't many laptops I can find with a 5870 mobile video card, so it's either more power and low resolution or higher resolution and less power.
