He got rid of it and got an Asus DirectCU.

As an aside, I've heard nothing but good things of the TFII, never heard any fan problems with it. Seems you just got very unlucky.

I cant believe this!!!!!
My Direct CUII has the exact same problem!!!!
Anyone else been this lucky? All my cards had stock cooling before all used for ears and none of the fans died, these fancy coolers are cheap made junk.

I'm actually having the same problem with one of my twin frozr II fans and it's screwing up what were once sub-40C idle temps Q_Q. Load temps don't peak out, they just keep going up 100C+ so I shut it down and took it out. This happened after 8 months of use though. The 470 is EOL so i really dunno what to expect when I send the card back to MSI and they can't/decide not to fix it...maybe I'll get a 570 twin frozr II? :3

The fans in my TwinFrozrII 460s went bad, I'll not be buying MSI crap again.

I'm about to buy the GTX 560 HAWK (Twin Frozr III) and I hope it last.
The only thing I don't like from asus is that they claim 50% overclock but with a 6870 and a GTX 570 DCII I was unable to move voltage with AfterBurner.
I had to get their Smart Doctor but the website wouldn't let me download anything.
I'm trying MSI for the first time.

Well after 2 RMAd cards, MSI 560 TFII and ASUS 560 DCII I went with EVGA using the traditional push out air cooler. Its silent, its cool its awesome. What I belive they use cheap a$$ fans on their cooler and brake easily, if I remember i posted earlier the made and model for TFII fan if anyone whants to replace theirs. Thanks all for replay!

I know this is an old thread but I'm going to pull it back up. I have a hit-and-miss fan on my MSI 6870 Twin Frozr II. Noisy as hell this morning, terrible moany/groany noise. Gave the fan a flick with my fingernail and it shut up for a second then did it again... another poke seems to have fixed it, back to its normal quiet(ish) self again.. not impressed with these coolers either smile.gif or more specifically the fans.

Oh and the other (matching) card I'm about to RMA has been RMA'd before. That's 2 MSI 6870s that were DOA and caused me no end of problems tongue.gif
