Bought a 4850 - Issues

So I bought a 4850 from a member on here for my friend up north. He tells me when ever he plugged in the gpu the computer it originally showed gray vertical bars and then it would boot to windows, but the drivers would not install and he went to reboot the computer. It was then that the computer stopped booting and would restart after passing the screen that asks if you would like to start windows normally. The card is HIS brand.

It sounds like the card is half-fried. Have you or your mate tried the card in another computer?

I would PM the member and make sure it's still good. Then check the specs of the computer it won't work in. PSU not strong enough for it maybe?

It suppose to be a freshly RMA'd card. It was in retail packaging and looked unused. I'll get the specs of his PSU the moment I can.

Hi Jolting. I'd agree with smashblock and recommend you test the graphics card in a second PC to see if the issues follow.
