Asus Smartdoctor Corrupts G. Drivers

Thread Starter
Problem: When Overclocking graphics card via "Asus SmartDoctor" my drivers constantly get corrupted(FPS in Games drop to unplayable levels and/or don't run at all)

*Multiple Games report that the Drivers need updating or may have been corrupted

Solution: Reinstall of graphics driver after which "Asus SmartDoctor" resets my GPU to Factory specifications and the process repeats its self. (Presumably because the drivers get temporarily removed during this process and "Asus SmartDoctor relies upon Driver Confirmation and Information Sharing between the two Programs on some basic level or more to Operate properly")

"Asus SmartDoctor" Version : (5.76)
*Graphics Driver Version: Nvidia GeForce Driver v267.59

Things Tried:
*The above stated solution
*The reverse of the above stated solution
*Rolling back drivers
*Updating drivers
*Installing/Replacing current "Asus SmartDoctor" with an Older Version
*Replacing 500W Power supply with a 750W Unit (to increase stability)

(And yes the 6-Pin power Adapter is plugged in to my GPU)
(When updating graphics drivers an Error message says "This graphics driver could not find compatible hardware") kookoo.gif

Additional Bugs:
When graphics drivers become corrupted "Asus SmartDoctor" will instantly minimize to the system tray every time it's popped up, No changes can be made to the program until the graphics driver is reinstalled and "Asus SmartDoctor" resets the GPU overclock to Factory Specifications. (This problem persists with even a slight 5Mhz Overclock)

This problem is very annoying, as i have everything else OC'd but this problem is keeping my GPU from being Oc'd to complete my system.

Any help would be greatly appreciated Ty cool.gif

No! It's not Smartdoctor. It's Smartdoctor's piggyback program, Gamer OSD. I had the same problems with my 570. Game will run perfectly fine and then when you do certain things (for me it was spinning the camera), the FPS will drop into oblivion. You can uninstall this from add/remove programs with no problems caused for Smartdoctor.

Also, right-clicking Smartdoctor's overclocking area (grey) will bring up a menu where you can make it keep the clocks after restarting Smartdoctor.

Well i uninstalled Asus Gamer OSD and Oc'd again and am currently playing WoW at the moment. The listed problems dont always pop up immediately so it might take about an hour to run all the tests Accurately.

Now on to the other rather odd problem:

When updating from Nvidia Driver 267.59 to 267.91 the driver reports the following message: "This graphics driver could not find compatible hardware"
Any ideas what is going on here?

The 550 is a very new card, why .59 works and .91 doesn't, I have no idea, but I would recommend going to the beta drivers.

Alright, the problem persists only this time my Graphics drivers aren't getting screwed up...Now no matter what game i play its unbearably Slow. Whereas I used to get 37~60FPS in WoW i now get 13~15 No matter what happens and WoW freezes up alot. confused.gif

And i tried the Beta Drivers, They cause even more problems:
*Causes Artifacts
*Asus Smartdoctor Reports error message: "Cant find Graphics Card"
*Games freeze upon startup
*Causes BSOD Upon startup doh.gif

Don't bother with Smartdoctor, Afterburner is a much better program - use it instead.

Also I'd really recommend uninstalling Smartdoctor and uninstall your drivers, restart and then try to install the newest using the clean install option. Might be worth running driver sweeper too.
