Make sure your sound output is set to your TV in windows. It should work if you select the HDMI as the sound source on your TV.

Make sure the right sound output is selected.

I'm sure it's on HDMI now... Mute it and add in, if you have to, the right output device. I have to do it hen I switch between headphones and my TV.

The sound going to the TV is just a 3.5mm connector to RCA (White + Red) plugged into the back of the PC. The computer does not have HDMI and does not have any HDMI settings in the sound.

I don't even need a RCA connector for my TV. The sound goes over the DVI to HDMI cable for me. In win7 sound control panel I can switch between regular "speakers" or "Samsung TV" for output. If I want to switch to headphones I switch back to the normal speakers setting.
