have you gotten a shader unlock yet? or tried it? still no proof it unlocks yet..seps for the first batch of them

Not yet. To be honest, I'm not going to risk doing it blind without knowing for definite that someone else has done it successfully, especially since I'm practically at 6970 performance anyway.

Also, I was playing Crysis Warhead with my clocks at 925 MHz and 1390 MHz, but it kept crashing. After dialling them down to 6970 speeds, i.e. 880 MHz and 1375 MHz, it worked fine. The thing is I did back to back 30 minute tests with OCCT and didn't experience one crash or error. I also played Alien vs. Predator and Far Cry 2 without issue, so I thought my overclock was stable. Ah well, I might just stick with 6970 speeds as I just want to enjoy my card and not have to spend ages tweaking it just to get every last ounce of performance out of it when I should be spending my time playing games.

do 900/1325, does that at stock fine, otherwise a tiny increase in voltage will let you get those clocks.

i can confirm the switch isnt a bios, i flashed one of my 6950's before i rma'd it and it didnt work, and i did the switch, and nothing. same exact bios, its just for the fan apparantly. luckily i have 2 6950 frozr's but i have to send the one back tommarow

i also confirmed with Tier 3 support (msi ofc) that it's not a bios switch, it is a fan performance switch =/

What kind of crash? Brod, reboot, or freeze?

I ask cause I get a screen freeze on my 6970 at stock volts with the core above 960 in SC2. I can run through kombustors benchmark on extreme settings, I can do extreme burn in, and I can do stability in in gpu tool all at 980/1500 on stock volts with no artifacts. However I get a screen freeze in SC2 at the same point everytime with clocks above 960. No flickers, artifacts, etc., just freeze. I have to manually reset the pc to get out of it.
