Linux folding native

Thread Starter
So I just installed ubuntu natty narwhall on my sig rig. I just started it folding bigadv and I was wondering how I can track the progress without digging through the log file.

Wasn't aware you were using v7.
HFM doesn't work at all for v7 cause the logs are entirely different, its going to be a while till it gets updated.

You can still use v6, nothing has changed for the A5 core on v7 so it will be the same.

16 hours later just to write that?

1. Bigadv folding gives you a limited time to finish.
2. ATI folding makes it even worse.
3. GPU folding under linux is horrible.

Go away now!

Thread Starter
I don't think I can run bigadv and gpu folding on just a 2600k :/ At 4.6ghz my 2600k is getting a TPF of ~3826 minutes on a 6901 WU. (No clue if that is good or bad)

Edit: Off topic but instead of making a new thread I'll ask it here.

Since I'm dual booting and pause folding on linux and booting into windows would it be better to set up a client on my windows side with SMP-6 and using one GPU to fold while I game? (It won't hinder my gaming performance). Then set the WUs it picks up to just finish and wait for those and return to linux for the bigadv folding? It seems that most units I pick up on windows side with SMP -6 and both GPUs takes about 2-4 hours tops to finish and that is roughly the amount of time I play for when I do switch.

Edit2: Fixed TPF after it has been running for more than just one frame.
