I can't decide between the radeon 6970 and the gtx 570.

I plan on buying one of either of these cards for now and then going sli/crossfire when I can afford it. I understand the 6970 could support eyefinity right off the bat but I'm worried about what I've read about Nvidia provided better eyecandy and overall better "looking" graphics.

Lol... that's false. Probably got that from the Nvidia forum.

You're going to run 3 monitors, have you even noticed the 6970 having 2GB VRAM against the GTX 570's 1,2GB? VRAM is always good in eyefinity/surround.

Stefy said it well SHMaRiM, get the Radeon 6970 you won't be disappointed. The better "eyecandy, and overall better graphics" is complete hogwash.

Just make sure you get a reference card especially at that price it is quite cheap.

like i said more ram means more support for bigger resolutiom stop listening to those nvidia users who have not experience the sweetness of eyefinity. either way 6970cf should be better than the 570sli imo.

I think a lot of people are missing an important detail; to do a 3 monitor eyefinity setup on one card you have use at least one display port. You can't use the two DVI and hdmi together; one of the monitors has to have displayport or you have to get an active mini or regular displayport adapter that is from 25-50 dollars.

Someone on here posted a link to a 6950 and said it included a mini-display to dvi which is incorrect, it had mini-display to display.

In order to not use the display port and run 3 monitors off one card you need a Flex series GPU from Sapphire like this

To game on 3 monitors?

If so you are looking at more than $360, you will need a High end AMD card like the $700 6990, or 2 $300-$350 cards from either AMD or Nvidia

Gaming on 3 monitors = very high resolutions, 1 6970 won't cut it

Lets see Metro 2033, Or Crysis or Mafia 2 or F1 2010 playing on 3 monitors with your 6950. Dirt 2 is not a very demanding game

Why should I make sure it is a reference card? is there a specific reason other than price?
