go with the i5 2400 no question, i dont even think the best amd can compete with it in gaming wise anyway.

Bottom line: performance-wise there is no AMD equivalent to a Sandy Bridge Quad core.

So if you can afford that, get that.

I would only be considering AMD if:

-The savings resulting from an AMD CPU/Motherboard allowed you to put more money into another component, like a better GPU or SSD.
-An application you use frequently benefits more from 6 cores than 4 or 4+HT cores. (Rare)

Thats next and actually its right now. I am building this same system for my friend too. He asked me to look into what kind of video card & PSU to get also.

So I have to find a vid card and PSU now.
