Thanks for all the replies! ATH-A700 looks nice but please also recommend a good quality mic other than the Zalman one.

We have MMX300 users in our team and they stand by their sound quality but the mic is not so good. The mic is very sensitive and picks up background noise but it's definitely one to consider.

I have received lot of recommendations for the PC360! Everyone seems to love it. The mic quality seems to be superb as well. I prefer closed ones as there are lot of background noise here in the house. While the PC350 seems good, I don't know if it's in the same league as in the PC360 when it comes to audio quality.

I will read more about PC350 and ATH A700 for now. More 'closed' recommendations are welcome! And those of you who suggest headphone+mic, please suggest a good external mic also.

Thank you

You can't go wrong with these man.. http://www.akg.com/personal/,pcp_id,....html&:GHS%201

You can get it at around $80 at either eBay or Amazon. Retails at $150 if I'm not wrong.

Winner of the coveted Red Dot award for outstanding product design, the AKG GHS 1 brings an extra level of realism and excitement to video gaming. Lightweight and designed for longwearing comfort, the headset features a boom microphone that filters out most background noise, and includes convenient volume and microphone controls right on the cable. Available in two color combinations plus Camouflage, the GHS 1 is as distinctive as it is dynamic.
In case if you're wondering, AKG is a company which manufactures headphones for studio monitoring purposes, just like Audio Technica. Prices of AKG's headphones can go as high as $600.

If only I could find a good external mic, I could pick up some good closed cans. The zalman one as you say picks up lot of background noise. I like the ATH A700 but I'm leaning towards the PC350 with the built in mic. People say sound is pretty similiar to the HD555.

Thank you
