Yeah... I assume that preview was using pre-release drivers. Isn't PCMark based on standard tasks like open Excel and such?

Difference between 780G and 780V is all in the IGP. That is barely any difference yet there are two chipsets. The P67 and Z68 have bigger differences.

If you look at the lower models, the difference are minute. In fact, some of the differences account for only $1-2 savings so that is why you don't really see many in use.

Heatsink is entirely up to the board manufacturer and has nothing to do with the chipset feature discussion.

The H55 can overclock and use the Core i3s and Core i5s onboard gpu. This is just Intel trying to make more money.

It actually is pretty good for most users though. Just attach a $50-75 30GB SSD and enjoy performance gain.

It makes things easy. It also allows people who complain about SSD not being low enough $/GB to gain overall performance for $50-75.

Actually, I think I might be one of those guys that don't know how to manage discs very well. I've got a 120, and I'm using up just over 100gb. And because I download everything to my desktop first, I'm always flirting with being over.

Can you point me out on what I should be doing?

Thanks!

There's a registry tweak that moves your "desktop'' to a differnt drive.

Or u can just make a link to a different drive folder, put that as favorite, and wheen u dl something, click on the folder u just made instead of desktop.

More than 2 sata III ports under the Intel chipset is always a plus.

i wonder if using the on-chip gpu would hinder cpu performance at all.. specifically in f@h
post #40 of 61
o will there be any new CPUs? Or is this just a new chipset, and that's it?
