I5 2500k doesn't downclock

Hi Guys,

It seems my CPU won't downclock to idle anymore, meaning it stays at the multi I am using for my overclock even when the load is very low. It just suddenly started this morning after I started to work on an "offset" overclock. Everything is fine if I use the optimized settings.

I had a 4.8 overclock this morning which was working great, with full load vcore of 1.38-1.40 and idle of 1.048 but after a BSOD while playing a game it doesn't work anymore.

Any idea what I can do to fix that situation?

Thanks a lot

Set C1E, C2E, and C6E at Enabled instead of Auto. Should fix it.

If you've enabled/disable it using a software program, it could have been lost due to BSOD.

Go into the BIOS and check to see if Intel Speedstep is on.

Enabling Speedstepping (EIST) and C1E in BIOS should fix the issue.

Thanks guys, that did the trick. I'm not exactly sure what turned that feature off, but it's now working.

Great forums by the way.
