1055T upgrades

My friend picked up my 1055T/890FXA-UD5/G.Skill Flares from me when I upgraded to SB. He currently has a 5850 in his system that he could just move over, but he has had a lot of annoyance with the cursor bug which seems to curse him regardless of driver version. If he were to ditch the 5850 and go for something from the Nvidia side (assume 200-300) is there a clear winner? From what I've seen the 560 doesn't seem like a great buy and the 570 seems to be plagued with problems. Is this just availability bias kicking in for me?

Here is a preliminary upgrade path for parts we need:
GPU - Pref Nvidia
Hard Drive - WD Caviar Black 1TB (HK doesn't have F3s anymore, the stores that do want around 90 USD)
PSU - Corsair TX650V2 (very unlikely for multi-card down the road)
Opticial - Whatever generic DVD-/+ RW I can find on the day
Case - Fractal Design R3 or equivalent
OS - Win 7 HP 64
Cooler - Not going to do an amazing OC, but needs to perform somewhat as HK summers get REALLY hot (30C+). Going to pass on the CoolIT rebrands. I don't think I've seen the Hyper212+ around HK, but I think that would be the cheapest option right?
TIM - I've got OCZ Freeze and IC7 Diamond on hand

No specific budget, but trying not to spend needlessly.

GPU - Pref Nvidia

I'd say, get a non-reference GTX480 if he can
KFA2 GeForce GTX 480 Anarchy! Or the "Galaxy" version work well

It seems that the 460 is the best all around bang for the buck from what I can see

I was leaning towards the same idea, but wanted some feedback from the community to see if I was missing something.
