Can you force SLI?

Some games are too new to have an SLI profile. Some games never had drivers put out to support SLI. However some people are having luck with nvidia control panel settings and forcing SLI. Anyone able to do so?

There HAS to be an SLi profile for the game in order for SLi to work, and there's nothing you can change in the settings of NVCP to 'force' SLi.

I seen on another forum that its impossible.

EVGA does release pre-emptive SLI profiles... you can ask them to include it in their releases.

...because you can ask EVGA to create a SLI patch for games including new or old ones.

Wouldn't that resolve your underlying issue of getting SLI support for games that offically are not supported?

Im looking for SLI in non supported SLI games by actually changing the rendering type in your nvcp instead of downloading a driver..

Isn't this the same thing?

EVGA release patches that allows SLI support in games that officially do not have SLI support.

How does this enhancement work?
  • New games/demos are released all the time, and often times they need an SLI profile in order for SLI to work, this is a quick fix that can get you gaming in SLI as quickly as possible.

Do you think that changing the rendering type is forcing SLI, which I may add is under the SLI rendering tab? This is not forcing SLI this changing the rendering method.

Well if set to auto doesnt support SLI and there are no profiles/drivers released, I wouldnt technically call it forcing. But in a way you are. You are forcing the cards to alternate the date regardless of its known, programmed method. Which is then giving you the performance of 2 cards instead of one.

I like the suggestion to ask EVGA to put a profile to an old game.
Yeah, that will happen.

Back on topic, to the OP:
You can read here on how to add a game to a SLI profile and try to "force" SLI. You can add any game to a profile, its not only for crysis 2.
Note that games which are completely not multi GPU compatible, might not work with SLI no matter what.
Adding a not-supported game to a profile might enable SLI, but there is other 100% way to force SLI on a game.

Why not? You can ask Jacob in their forums and see if he do it for you.

It isn't that much work... but like you said, some older games simply cannoy easily.
