Safest Way to Torrent?

I'm not talking about pirating or anything of the sort. I'm really paranoid about the latest lawsuits from downloading stuff from torrents and the such. I plan on downloading Half Life 2 Cinematic Mod 10, but I need to torrent it.
So what methods can I use to ensure no one can detect that I'm torrenting? I know I should have nothing to worry about since this is legal, but I rather not have anyone know I even have the software on here.

Well is the software you wanting free??
If its free you have nothing to worry about even if your torrenting its only the stuff that has to be paid for

Its not the software that is illegal, its what people done with it. Torrenting is, in basics, sharring. Free ware to free ware is fine. But when people start to rip films that clearly state that illegal reproduction may result in prosecution and share them, then it gets tricky.

Basically, your fine. If you really want to, download utorrent, find a trusty torrent site, make sure the file has no viruses by looking at comments and checking files to make sure theyre accurate, and your clear.

There is NO way to hide what you're downloading from your ISP. Trust me, they have enough tech to detect what packets are being sent, to where, and can find the source easily.

Are you your ISP's only customer? If not, I wouldn't worry. Typically ISP's have certain flags that are raised, such as bandwidth caps and the like to initiate any kind of investigation.

Since torrenting and the software used to do so isn't illegal, you have nothing to worry about unless you're downloading copyrighted material from a public tracker.

Your ISP can track how much you download and upload, not what you use to download. If they start tracking what files your using and what is on your computer, that is illegal and you can use legal action.

Too bad your ISP can see everything you download or surf.

There's an option on most bittorrent clients to activate encryption settings, but the header of the packages would still say it's from a torrent.
