I guess the kid got lucky. I'm sure he was going to lose. But I guess Sony did not really like all the attacks on the PSN network either

Wasn't the guys from the wii hacking community ( Bushing and others) the ones who actually hack the ps3 in part using the exploit Geo Hotz had found some time ago? Then Geo posted the security key on his website for the public when the others hadn't share anything?

Ah I think it is more sony looking around the table and asking themselves how they let this go so far, moment of clarity.

Anon really had NOTHING to do with it...And Geo can't use a sony product of any kind for the rest of his life.

I don't understand how anyone can see this as a win for him...Honestly.

So he doesn't get to pay millions of dollars at the cost of not playing ps3 which he didn't own until he got it donated to hack it not play it.

Wow so he won and now is joining the SONY boycott? Doesn't sound like a win to mee...

The only way I see this as a win for GeoHot is Sony didn't send him into bankruptcy. Other than that it's a loss. He's not allowed to touch another Sony device.

Also, Sony wouldn't need to hire this clown simply because they messed up on the security key. The key wasn't too complicated at all and if they used some basic IA methods, the PS3 would still be locked down today. Sony basically was riding on the hope that no one would "guess" the security key, which is all GeoHot did to unlock the PS3.

Where did you read that he can't touch another Sony device? AFAIK, the permanent injunction is to stop him from spreading the PS3 jailbreak info on his website.

Do you know how many producs sony has?

How many partnerships//conglomerates he can now NEVER touch?

Try cell phones?

Any partnered computer...

These are things that Geohot can never use for the rest of his life and this is a win?

IMO, it's a major loss...
