I'm pretty sure there's an unwritten clause somewhere that OCN is okay with pics of hot women, even if it is off topic (as long as they're fully...semi-fully... maybe semi-clothed????).

Masked will post pictures of his hot lawyer friend, and this thread won't need anything else. End of story.

I never knew there were so many lawyers on OCN.

This will forever follow him whether you choose to acknowledge that or not.

The lawyer across from me, just graduated from Yale Law School...I'd take her word over yours in a heartbeat and she says: "It will forever be a matter of public record that there was a settlement."

Sorry...That's reality.
LOL, that means nothing. I think you are confusing public record(meaning crap found on the internet) with permanent record. Public Record does not mean anything as for all we know, SONY could have paid him $1million, given him the keys to sony's doors and said do what you want. It is a sealed record. Yes from now till the end of time, you will be able to see that sony sued geo..but again, that does not mean crap as it was settled and sealed. sealed cases cannot be used to determine jobs or loans so how would this hurt him. What im talking about is this hurting him on any level rather than idiots thinking "owe, he got owned by sony" YOUR OPINION(and mine so you dont think im being a douche) on what happened does not mean crap. Is it on any criminal record, no, is it on his credit history, maybe, but that will be removed very quickly. AGAIN, this will not effect a background check for any job. Some employers may not want him because of how much publicity this got him, But my wife has a masters in communications(Public Relations) and this has done more good for Geo than sony. Sony handled this wrong on every level. Sony had to have not listened to the PR team as this Screwup that is the sony vs geo lawsuit is in ever PR/communications classroom across america teaching PR people how not to react. you may not think it, but this is sonys(tylenol bottle) moment and instead of doing what Tylenol did, they flubbed it and ruined there image.

You don't have to be a laywer to understand the fundamentals of law. Just like you don't have to be an electrical engineer to know how a lightswitch works.

My point in this is Hotz didn't win.

He got a wikipedia page out of it, a permanent record, barred from ever using a Sony product again and ontop of that, you can google his name and see how small of a claim to fame he actually has.

The only thing he seemingly won was, not owing a company millions of dollars...Okay, well...Small victory.

Where's he ever going to get a job in the computer world? What boss would hire a KNOWN hacker that's google-able?

Beyond google-able he has a reputation of defiance...

I agree with whoever said McDonalds...Geohot's only claim to fame in 20 years will be the fact he's the fast food manager at a McDonalds...
Guess you dont know about the hacking community, about 10% of the Governments task force against hackers are..omg...hackers that became famous for hacking. Geo made himself marketable, watch within 6 months he will have a killer job and make some pretty dam good $ off of this...

oh, the whole not owing sony Millions of $, yea sure, thats a small win
Really hope you see the sarcasm there!!

Well, in reality he probably won if he got lots of donations. It probably paid for his vacation and he still has money left for some nice toys

Basically, it says Sony's not doing well.

$356M profit on ~$31,000M is really REALLY low margins. 1%... yuck.

Even AMD's P/E is twice as good.
