GTX 580 FTW Hydro Cooper 2

Thread Starter
I was going to do 3-way SLI with my GTX 580's superclocked, and if they r together I'm guessing the temps will be too high so I was thinking in building a water cooling system.

But instead, I'm wondering if I should return them and get the FTW Hydro Cooper 2 cards?

Because if I water cool the superclocked cards, and something goes wrong, I wont be able to use the guaranty. Plus, the VGA blocks already costs like 100$, so the FTW Hydro Cooper 2 card price is not too high either...

Also, If I'm not wrong, I would have to do a really GOOD water cooling build in order to get the temps that you get with the FTW Hydro Cooper 2 cards (which seem to be 35°C around in a stress test, 2560x1600)

I don't think it's worth returning them. If you have EVGA cards you don't void the warranty by adding water blocks, so as long as you do it properly and take your time mounting the blocks, nothing will go wrong.

Also, if you are getting three of them, get the EK blocks and SLI bridge, it looks incredible.

I used to have my cards on air.
The temps aren't very high as long as the case cooling is good and its clean from dust.
But you will be a bit stuck at how much OC you can do.

The HC2 are nice, but expensive, and a reference card+other brand block will sometimes a better job and cost a lot less, but you are also stuck at warranty issues.

And if its worth it, well that depends on your wallet and bank manager
