Need advice for MB & Video Card - Page 2

I've always been a bit of an Nvidia fanboy so don't take my unfair terribly bias words to heart.
But if you plan of playing lots of Crysis 2 you don't want to miss out on that PhysX goodness
I had a choice between the GTX 560 and the ATI 6870, both are still the same price.
The 560 tended to perform a lot better in certain specific titles, usually as Nvidia would have partnerships with the developers of the games.
It really comes down to personal preference, they're both fairly good mid-range cards that come in at very appealing prices.

This is also a good point, for a little more the 6950 does perform pretty good.
But then also the GTX560 and GTX470 fit into that price mould.

for Resolutions above 1920x1080 the 6950 will outperform the 560 and the 470.
Anything below it will tend to be outperformed by the nvidia cards.

Too expensive for me man, but it is a sexy card.

I think i may just run a single video card from now on and ditch SLI for a while because of the mother board selection on the market. I really am a huge fan of Nvidia but i never disregard ATI because their card a beastly. I just feel more comfortable using nvida, its a shame tho that i wont be able to SLI anymore.

If you're requirements don't mean you need to run a dual GPU set up, you're always better off with a single GPU set up, there can be quite a few problems you run into when using a dual gpu system and it's best to avoid them if you can.
Good luck with your new build! make sure you let us know how it goes!
