Yeah just as i thought, i guess that option is motherboard specific.

Well I will keep reading up as I am researching these for my own use and will post anything useful if i find it.

I'm sitting here debating whether to pull out my SSD and RMA it or to just sit and wait for new firmware. I seem to have little faith in both...
Anyone have any thoughts?

I just replaced my OCZ 120GB Vertex 2 SATA II with Vertex 3 SATA III. After reading the posts here, I am seriously thinking whether I should return it! I love the speedy boot, but I need a reliable system can't afford the uninvited BSODs smile.gif

Just don't upgrade to 2.06 firmware mate. If you do, there seems to be a high probability that you'll curse your SSD and OCZ to death! smile.gif
If however you have 2.06 firmware and like a week passes and it's working perfectly, please let us know! smile.gif

Newegg is being good and has cross shipped me two new drives. They should be here tomorrow. Hopefully they have 2.02 firmware which I will not touch for a long long time of others beta testing the newer firmware!

I get my stuff from Micro Center (Houston) and they replace items without asking any questions. You don't even need a receipt because they keep them in the system by your name!

As an update, I'm currently jumping through the hoops for Tony for testing purposes. Instructions are on this thread (for AMD platforms):

people with AMD based boards and vtx3 agility3 or solid3 and bsod look in here

If I have no problems, it proves that touching anything in the Extreme Tweaker section of my BIOS could indeed be the problem. Of course, if there are no problems for a week, I'll start touching stuff there for overclocking to see how things go.

The initial problem I described in my OP in this very thread was actually totally and completely circumvented if I left all of the options in Extreme Tweaker for my motherboard BIOS on AUTO. Any changes, including setting the CPU Ratio to 16.00x (stock for my CPU) would make the initial problem re-appear immediately. Weird, and I guess it's why Tony wants us to test the SSDs in this manner.

AHCI is equal to hot plugging bro sort of speak. Hoping you guys get it figured out with the OCZ stuff. Is it possible to RMA for a refund and go with another brand, say Crucial/Intel, etc?

I very much doubt it. The retailer you buy the SSD from might be able to comply with this if they try replacing your SSD only to notice you still have problems but OCZ will not do this by any means. I don't think any manufacturers do this. All you can hope for is RMAs and some form of technical support to get you going. Of course, you can always sell an RMA'ed SSD on eBay and with the money get yourself another you want. An RMA'ed SSD will be totally new from factory so it can sell as new.
