MSE or Bitdefender?

Well I have been using Microsoft Security Essentials for a year or so now and I do like it, its lightweight and very basic. But after reading this months issue of Maximum PC they went over all the major anti-virus suites including MSE and Bitdefender.

They gave Bitdefender a very good review and it seems to cover a lot more security wise than MSE (email, ect). Although the thing that makes me nervous to switching is really if Bitdefender will give me a slowdown on performance or not.

Anyone have a particular preference for either one or any suggestions for me?

I guess the best thing you could do would be to uninstall MSE and then install bitdefender to try it out and see if it suites your needs.

Ya I could do that, was just trying to get a feel from the masses on whats preferred or if theres a particular reason to stay away from bitdefender.

I either don't use security, or use AVG.

I am behind my schools network, so I don't really have to worry about it.
Plus I am an Information Technology and security major, so keeping my computer virus free is pretty easy for me.
