What songs do you use to test new gear? - Page 3

none, EVER. why would i want some random noise in the background when i am trying to test a piece of equipment??? sorry, but when i setup a 10K + server i want to listen for any pop, whine, grind, or ***ever noise might show me signs of a fan/hdd/psu or anything else being doa or failing but since i guess this is the "home" audio section my point doesnt really count

I use dubstep of course. I do have tons of different kinds of songs in my library but usually I will go for the dubstep first and go from there. Here is a song I just found:

Bar 9
The new muse album
Pink Floyd

Under the Influence - Chemical Brothers.

Extreme highs and lows. Awesome Bass. I especially love the sinking bass tone. It really reveals any vibrations or resonances that you need to fix.

28 ghosts - NIN
Another great Bass test. Lots of deep tones and also a rather high pitched banjo that should sound very clear. (yes, NIN and banjo in the same sentence)
