Hp Dv6-2190us temp issue

So for a while my laptop has been running hot. i kinda figured it would run hotter than my school laptop (i5 processor). I didnt think it would be hitting 90c. My desktop crashed so i kind of have to do EVERYTHING on this and the temperatures have become a problem. The GPU hits 68c just because the i7 is hot. Im afraid how hot this thing gets when i play Crysis 2... I have an actual burn mark on my leg from my laptop and thats when i decided to put it on a flat surface (Glass Desk) and see what happens. I really dont want my $1000 laptop to go up on me since HP will not replace it since there is cosmetic damage done because my girlfriend dropped it. Everything is fine until i start multi-tasking or play a game. The damn thing overheats playing Diablo2... Right now im just concerned about the CPU but i need a solution for both the CPU and GPU...

Any suggestions?

Specs are:

i7 720QM- 1.6GHz (Turbo- 2.8GHz)
nVidia GT 230M (188.17 Drivers)
4GB DDR3 RAM (really dont know who manufactures it)
500Gb HDD (Either Samsung or Hitachi)
6-Cell Battery 10.8v (47Wh)
120W AC Adapter

The laptop idles at 60+
Under a FULL load it hits 83+

See attached pictures
Please note that this is with all the bios settings default and it gets so hot that it has to downclock itself and it is still getting these temps.

EDIT: I read somewhere about a person having the same problem with their HP Envy and he thinks its a battery controller issue since hes only getting an hour out of the battery and it is supplying 55w when the max TDP is 45w.

EDIT: Temps are from RealTemp as you can see and i have tested the CPU with more than LinX and it is still reaching these temps. I know LinX is extreme but using other software such as LoadTest, .etc, it is still in the high 80s and core 4 reached a maximum of 91c which is only 9 away from TJmax

As of right now, just with IE9 open and RealTemp, everything is supposedly running at mid 50s the GPU is running in the low 50s. im seriously about to just rip the bottom off and screw it onto a laptop cooler... However, i only have $20 to spend on a solution to this problem and i do not believe a $20 laptop cooler would suffice.

My sig idles at 47c and reaches 89 at full load. Try switching to the "balanced" power scheme or battery saver. When I set mine to battery saver, the temps drop to 73c with a loss of 1-4 FPS. I also remove the panel from the bottom and set it on a Egg Flat, or prop the back up on a thick book. Which drops the temps even more to 62c.

i7-720qm is known to have reach around 70-80C at load so I think it's just the laptop cooling solution that is not good enough.

i tried propping it up with a book and it really doesnt help much. it makes it cooler by about 2-3c. i guess its better 12 away instead 9 away from TJmax though. what im thinking of doing is making something to prop the back up and have some pvc pipe go straight to the vents and create a push pull setup. only problem is the vents location and shape... so maybe making it out of something i could shape would be better like some tin or copper. the thing that sucks is the fact that the GPU shares the heatsink with the cpu and they both create a ton of heat (especially in crysis 2). although i have not noticed any slow downs in any game i play, id still like to be able to have the TURBO to kick on when it needs to... that way the games actually load and it doesnt take 5 minutes.

I'm also thinking about cleaning the HS up and putting so Artic Silver on. i just want to get the thing below 85c. I just ran a test again and RealTemp hit 94c before shutting down on me.

i know that 70c-80c is fine. The thing is the fact that that its hitting the low 90s across the board.

would a laptop cooler actually help? i mean the vent is on the top left/left side so i dont think blowing air at hard plastic would really help...

EDIT: it does have vents on all the covers and everything but there is no airflow so the air is just going from the top left and out through the left side...

EDIT: I kinda wish i could tell what mobo i had and where everything is without tearing my laptop apart.

EDIT: Is there a program that can give me the temps of my HDD and RAM?

Why don't you check ebay for a motherboard and look at that? That's what I do when I don't want to take apart a laptop without knowing where's the placements are.

Here's what I found:

Seems like your CPU is located in the middle.

Thanks. I have got it to idle at around 50c... (Blew the vents out). The vents were apparently full of dog hair and dust since i was an idiot and blew the dust right in my eyes. lol. However the problem still remains.
core temps were as follows under load:
Core 0- 88
Core 1- 90
Core 2- 84
Core 3- 91

NOTE: I held the laptop in the air while testing by the front left and rear right corners. The vents were in NO way obstructed and im really getting PO'd because my dad doesnt see a problem with the i7 coming 9 away from TJunction max and he knows im not talking about the store. If i could get it to ~85c under full load id be happy because that is within the operating temp since my uncle could atleast pull up specs and he told me to just make it stay 10+ away from the TJMaximum. I mean this is my school laptop at the moment and thats why im concerned... the thing is just over a year old and so its out of its warranty and i cannot afford to have a $1,000 laptop go up on me especially since my desktop is messed up right now since EVGA mobos have a problem seeing 1 RAID 0 and then a seperate drive... It either sees the RAID or it sees my seagate.

I dont like using balanced or Max Battery Life because running WMP causes my system to freeze since i have 150GB of music and it just doesnt like to load all of the files. I wish HP would ACTUALLY update drivers... My nVidia GT 230m is running on 188.17 and i cant just install the drivers from nVidia because they need to be "specially certified by HP"

I know that it probably wont get that hot since LinX is really extreme and probably shouldnt be ran on a laptop but the thing is I CANT STAND to see temps like that. i mean crysis2 is when i got the burn on my leg so I still want it to cool down a bit. Im seriously going to wire up a bed of Delta Fans and set my laptop on top since i just got 3 Low output PSUs (they are good for like 15A i think). i dont know if theyd be enough and it would defeat the point of it being a laptop but i want to do something to try and cool this thing down...

I have the exact same laptop with the exact same issue. Doesnt matter what I do anymore but for the last 6 months roughly it runs hot, I actualy proped mine up (in the back) about 3/4" and bought a USB plug in fan (the bendable kind) and point it right directly under the corner of it, that seems to drop my temps about 10 to 15 degrees but is a major pain in keeping it adjusted there all the time and being a laptop isnt very handy any more. also I have gone through 2 fans now due to my length of usage everyday.

I do not do alot of gaming either, most of my issues come from just browsing AND I watch movies on a 26" tv thats plugged into the HDMI port. This was never a problem like I said untill about 6 months ago and I cant find anything else to try either.

Im open to all sugguestions and BTW.....have you found anyway to see your fan speed or be able to change it at will??
