How To: Remove Your AMD GPU Drivers (New - 2016) - Page 26

1. What do you mean "before uninstaller" (as in the built in express uninstall option, or software like driver sweeper)?
2. I have no idea what that is, but your new avvy is awesome.

Thanks for the link. I didn't know about that and I couldn't apply the suggestions of BradleyW because my cpu is AMD. smile.gif

I just want to add that after using the uninstall utility the images on your PC may look like when it's on safe mode. This should be fixed after installing the new drivers. Probably most of you know that already, but I didn't and I got scared, cos that never happened to me with the normal uninstaller. So, I thought to let newbies like me know.

hi everyone

i just want to ask BradleyW few question:

1) isn't this procedure meant to be done under windows safe mode?
2)i'm switching from an AMD card to an NVIDIA: at which point of the procedure i should change the card and mount the nvidia one?
3) after all this, if i find with driver cleaner/other programs some other adm folder/item should i cancel it or leave it?

thanks a lot for the guide! smile.gif

You don't need safemode for this.
Follow the guide, then swap cards.
Don't use any software cleaners unless provided by AMD.

Following your registry section, I noticed in the registry editor there was a search function that can be triggered with CTRL F, when going through my registry looking for AMD and ATI, I just checkmarked all the search option fields and typed ATI or AMD first, then deleted folders and things it found. Only brings up one search object at a time, but you can just hit F3 untill you can't find anything to do with ATI anymore. Double checking to make sure I didn't find anything laying around that the search missed, it seemed to grab it all, which was nice. Saved time searching for it manually.

Nice tutorial man. biggrin.gif
