Sorry for the noob question, but what is CCC?

Thanks.

CCC -> Catalyst Control Center, its called AMD Vision Control Center now tho.
Its the AMD graphics options etc when you right click on the desktop, also you will have a small red/white icon at your tray tools (bottom right of the screen)

@Anyone: If the guide does not work, either it's being done wrong or your installs have taken their toll over time and reformat is needed.

Ive used this guide on my computer after ive started getting the annoying msg that amdkmdap has stopped responding. This issue started after i installed the newest driver a few weeks back and i tried as any sane person to rollback to the previous drivers but the problmen still came up, so i went back to the drivers that came with the GPU when i bought it and the issue was still there when i tried to play games, so i went and tried this guide, and it didnt work.
I have now tried it once with installing the bundle of drivers + CCC etc at the end and that didnt work so i did the guide again and just installed the drivers without anything else at the end and that didnt work either. So i thought it must be the newest drivers, so i did the guide and then installed the drivers etc that came on the CD that came with the GPU... and that didnt work either...

My computer spec:
Motherboard: ASUS P7P55D-E LX, Socket-1156
CPU: Intel Core i3 Dual Processor i3-550
GPU:Sapphire Radeon HD 5750 1GB GDDR5
HDD:Western Digital Caviar® Black 500GB
Memory:Kingston DDR3 HyperX blue 1600MHz 4GB
DVD: Samsung DVD±RW brännare, SH-S223C
Power Supply:Corsair Powersupply 550W Black,ATX/EPS
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1

Am i just a victim to having tried alot of different stuff before trying this guide and have to reformat or have i missed something ?

Try the guide in safe mode. make sure you do not miss a file at all otherwise the guide will be useless to you. Then download latest 11.6 drivers and just do the express install. Also i once had this issue and a reformat did not fix it. I remember taking my GPU's out and stuff like that. The issue went on it's own. My GPU might not have been seated correctly. Also check that no other software is conflicting with AMD drivers. Check temps and stability on GPU and CPU and North Bridge. use latest INF and motherboard drivers/sound/controllers ect.

Next time you do the method, at the end, go back into regedit and click
HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Then Click
Software
Then click
ATI and/or AMD and delete that too. It might help you.

Good Luck.

I was to impatient to wait for your response so i just formated since its not a big hassle anyways, and well with the drivers for everything that came with on the CDs for MB and GPU etc and a fresh Win7 Ultimate 64bit install without ANY updates from windows update i still get the error of the screen freezing when i tried to play F1 2010. No msg of drivers not responding tho but it was the exact same thing.

Weirdly enough i could qualify for the race meaning i played some minutes and then when race was about to start it just froze. The game was also a fresh install...

I guess ill try to take out the GPU and so on tommorow to check if that is the issue.

Edit: I can only imagine something must have broken somehow, cause this problem hasnt occured before, meaning i used the comp with the CD drivers for atleast 4 months before updating some of em. So something must not be as they were when i bought them...

The circus continues... After the format and CD drivers i still had issues, uninstalled them and then did driversweeper, and then installed JUST the driver without CCC and without hdmi drivers etc and WOHO i could play games without crashing once biggrin.gif

It worked like 3 days, until yesterday night to specific, i was JUST browsing the web and i got weird pixels on the screen and then it went grey with black bars all over and now the screen says NO SIGNAL when i try to start my computer...

Has the card just broken overall now or what can have happend ?

With the release of 11.6, all I did was uninstall 11.5 and then dl/install 11.6, not taking any of those measurements in your guide since I am just seeing it now. Am I going to have issues in the future? So far I haven't had any real issues but I'd like to prevent anything from happening.
