thats not what my concern is about overclocking

my forums about the graphics cards, and im sticking to it for now thanks

back to the discussion about the graphics please.

and thanks i will look for a sapphire 6950 2gb version
will it fit my motherboard tho???? because people were talking about pins and i have never dealt with that?

i dont want to buy it and it not fit causing me to have to buy a new motherboard and new case, because i can just transport my cpu to the next motherboard if i had to buy one..

Go with whatever your wallet says. I have both the 580 and 6970 and you can't go wrong with either. I like both of them.

Hey Raw, If you buy a non reference 6950 you may not be able to unlock it. Go with a Reference card like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161355 I have owned several HIS cards and they all performed great. TJ

A reference card is the original design from AMD sent to card marker, and the reference card will unlock.

Reference is AMD or Nvidia's stock cards they first come out with. Each manufacturer replicates it to the same specifications exactly and places their name on it.

A non-reference card is when that same manufacturer then takes the specifications and tweaks it a bit, like over clock, use their style of fans, place fans differently, use different resistors, capacitors, or pcb's....etc.

Sometimes it's better cooling or higher grade componenets. Other times they can cut cost and offer it at a lower price. This will vary as they release different versions of the same card.

A non-refernce card is like an MSI Twin Frozr II, ASUS Direct CU II, Sapphire Vapor x.

MSI reference card example MSI GTX 570
MSI non-reference card example MSI GTX 570 Twin Frozr III.
