My First Build - Suggestions Please!

Thread Starter
Hey guys I'm building a new PC for the first time. I had a thread on here earlier and after much consideration I decided to change a lot(most) of the parts I was thinking of before. I'm building the PC for gaming as well as some cpu/memory heavy tasks. What I am now thinking is:

CPU: i7-2600K (going to overclock)
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
RAM: Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 16GB 1600mhz DDR3 Ram(dual channel)
Case: Cooler Master 922 HAF
SSD: Crucial C300 Sata III 64gb SSD (for OS+ apps)
HDD: 1TB Seagate (or should I Raid 0 two 500's?)
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 6950 (possibly a crossfire in future)
Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 LE B3 (still unsure on this)
PSU: Corsair 850W Modular Power Supply (enough for oc'd cpu and crossfire?)

Total Cost is around $1500 + some accessories and would like to stay in this price range with some room to expand in the future.

Please feel free to comment and would love to hear people's suggestions.

the psu may be a bit much for that setup, but will give you some headroom. Everything else looks good. for the hdd, depends on what you are using it for. I would recommend a backup solution if you go with raid; though raid gives you faster file transfers.

I think the build looks good in general. Some comments:

If you're going to overclock, I'd highly recommend getting a better motherboard. Check out this thread. The P8P67 LE has a 4 phase VRM, which most consider to be woefully inadequate for stable overclocking. I'd suggest at least the regular P8P67 board, which has 12 phases, but the higher the better.

The 850W psu is a solid choice, especially if you are going to add another 6950 later on and overclock your cpu (and gpu?)

Because you already have an SSD for OS and apps, I'd recommend going with a single 1TB HDD for storage. I don't think you need the performance of RAID0 for storage, and a single drive is much simpler to deal with.

Alright, I was looking at upgrading by M/B. How's the likes of this one: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...084&CatId=6978 ?
