Do not get a gaming laptop for school, just grab a simple laptop to take notes.

I miss my 13 months of lan partying in class with 13 other idiots like me.
Good old time xD
So you blame the laptop for your inability to stay on task? Really? Wow.

I blame my laptop for distracting me when it wasn't the time.
Buying a 400$ laptop would be the choice I'd go now.
It's like hunting and bringing a wireless tv ... it just doesn't fit.
School = concentration
Gaming laptop = PEW PEW PEWP PEWPEWPEWP

No, the laptop wasn't to blame. Now not hating on you but you just aren't ready to take school seriously. I'm going to assume you were 18ish when this went down. I know when I was 18-22 I prioritized partying and playing games. I did get an associates in that time but dropped out twice at four year university. Now I'm 25 and about to graduate with a Bachelors Degree. Why? Because at 22 I finally made the decision I want to move on with my life. I still play games but I made school the priority. You have the willpower to say "hey classmates I'm going to learn today and not LAN up."

You need to actually want to go to school. If you don't want too it's like pulling teeth... If you are going to blame "games" for your problems save yourself the trouble and don't waste your money (or parents, or financial aid). You are just at a different stage in your life. One day you'll wake up though... Well hopefully...

I think I am going to wait for the m14x to come out I hear that is packing Sandy and I do want something a little smaller than the 15in, but with significant power. This seems to be what I am looking for. Most tech sites are speculating may for it's release or announcement so I hope I can get it before I can go to college.
