I am really disappointed with Microsoft. I have been using windows 7 since the day the beta was released and never looked back, but with these "rumors" of Windows 8 I am also not looking forward. Honestly Windows 8 feels way to much like Ubuntu. Not that thats a bad thing, but if I wanted to use Ubuntu features I would download and install Ubuntu. Not go out and pay $380 for Windows 8 Ultimate. Microsoft.... not impressed.

Coming from a person that has always despised Apple products I am even considering switching if Windows 8 goes to all of this cloud junk. I don't have anything to hide. I just hate tethering myself to wireless and "virtual" devices. When I pay a premium for something I expect a tangible object, not something stored in the cloud.

It's a constant cycle. Something new is slated to come out. 80%+ scream and stomp their feet because change is bad. The change occurs. People see it isn't as bad as they thought it was going to be, and most actually like it. Rinse. Repeat.

How many threads following that formula have been on this site? 1,000? 10,000? A billion?! Yeah, roundabout.

Of course I'm not talking about obviously BS things like Ubi DRM or the end of the world.

Yea... Linux has had this kind of thing since... forever.

And even Ubuntu beat them with the "store" idea:

So what if they're copying something. There are tons of windows users who don't know how or where to download a program correctly. With this they'll be able to find everything they need from a legitimate source. They're just making things easier for their users, whats wrong with that? If you don't like it you can always just download your programs just how you always have....
