That isn't going to be a problem then, thank you! Besides, using it with optical out might make the noise even smaller, and at full volume you say? That's way beyond listening levels on most big active speakers I've used, so that's a non-issue.

Thanks!

I'm hoping that a Maverick D1 would clear my issues (and look awesome while doing it)

You'll be needing two cords with a single RCA connector in the other end, mono 1/4" TS jack in the other.

Keep in mind that a huge majority of DACs do not work as DACs but mere headphone amplifiers in mobile use. If you don't know the difference you probably don't need either, no offence.

That being said, FiiO E7 is only a mobile amp and a USB DAC, it doesn't work as a DAC when plugged into an iAnything. If you want a mobile iPod DAC you will be needing a Cypher Labs Algorhythm Solo. Now while it does work as a normal USB DAC with computers too, it's the only Apple certified external iPod DAC to date.
damn. 500$ :O what about the istreamer. the worked directly with apple.

I plugged the D1 back into my XFi XtremeGamer's SPDIF out and it doesn't pop and crackle. I believe it did the reason it did before is because the cable was not plugged into my DAC snugly.

Currently I'm using Entertainment Mode with the Classical EQ setting listening to some of Andrew Lloyd Webber's music. CMSS 3D, EAX, Crystalizer, and SVM are all disabled.

EDIT: Changed it to Audio Creation mode, Sounds a little better I think.

I ended up swapping the DAC op-amp and swapping the GE5670 for a Western Electric 396A. It's a big improvement from before. There is more fullness of sound coming from the BX8a's along with added bass with out an annoying high end that I believe was caused by the stock op-amp. No buzz besides a buzz that developed a while ago in my right BX8a (my own stupidity, not the DAC). I'm not using the USB though, I'm connected to the Digital Out of my XFi.
