Since gtx 570 vrms explode..

Would it better if i replace those pads

with gelid gc-xtreme?

or would pads give better performance?

Its very unlikely you will deal with VRM issues.

99% people don't have problems if you leave it stock, and the overwhelming majority of people who did exceeded the manufactures recommend max voltage and most likely didn't do much more then air cooling.

Its overplayed as people come here for help and to squeeze the life out of them.

While thermal pads are slightly less effective at thermal transference than TIM I would personally leave everything at as stock as possible in the case that you have another failure and have to RMA so that your manufacturer doesn't try to blame the failure on the changes you made.
