How badly does my cpu bottleneck my gpu? - Page 10

I think its amazing how much you've actually proved in this thread.

Not so much about AMD and bottlenecking, but your overall complete lack of understand for anything discussed in this thread.

You seem to represent the "majority" as well, which is a bit disheartening.

You proved that CPU's do not bottleneck GPU's in instances where applications actually intensively utilize GPU's, ie: games, 3d benchmarks.

And you like to ramble on about some non-applicable CPU intensive applications that supposedly limit a GPU, but are not coded to properly utilize a GPU.

Still waiting for your 3dmark11 extreme score, or vantage score with verified physx disabled.

It's really not my fault that the "majority" do not like you. You tout around bragging, comparing a brand new architecture 32nm cpu to a 3 year old outdated architecture 40nm cpu, and your post-to-rep-ratio reflects that.

SB - $225

GTX 470 - $210 http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...u=SPM721086801

lol @ 9800GT being $160, try $50 bro. Cool Story though.

Total "Retail" = $645

Total "Actual" = $545 (funny how you can include discounts in your price but I can't - I will dig up paypal records if required)

Beats your max overclocked system with everything at stock while having power saving features on - incredibly priceless.

lol rep. Seriously?

The difference between your build and mine is $60, think about that.

BTW if my 470 or even 9800GT where doing physX the score would be well over 60k, as seen here with my 1090T.

GPUs are much faster than cpus when it comes to physics calculations.

You should run tri 470s with your tri core. This way you could create a bottleneck, start a thread here, and balla will come and school you

Then we will get more awesome Balla quotes, calling people arrogant. hahahahaha

Note to mods, these threads are not closed fast enough.

A Phenom II quad core doesn't bottleneck any single GPU. It may seem that way when you run 3Dmark because they bench at 1280x1024. Compare your Phenom with a Core i7 920-960 at the same clock speed and higher resolution. You will only see a 1-5 FPS difference in games.

My Phenom II 940 @ 3.72Ghz with a GTX 470 at the same GPU clocks as a person with a Core i7 920 @ 3.8Ghz both scored a 88FPS in stone giant.

If you want higher 3Dmark scores buy Intel.
If you want the same performance for $60-140 cheaper get a Phenom II 955 you won't regret it.

If all these games are supposedly optimized for Intel/NVIDIA why bother with AMD?

5.3GHz is irrelevant. Remember we are talking about price here. If AMD could do 7GHz on air, that would be great! Everyone would buy those chips and clock the hell out of them. BUT that isn't true - and somehow it isn't valid for Intel to have a better architecture AND better overclocking platform at the same time, just because butthurt damric likes his AMD setup.

Try again sally.

Actually, what I got out of it is that you are nothing more than a troll chearleader that likes to follow Balla into the amd section, where you don't belong. Also, I'm pretty sure you're nothing more than a ban dodger, which makes you almost as pathetic as your posts. Just sayin'.

Sadness?
A GTX470 with its Physix boosts that fake intel benchmark.
Besides, a HD6850 is only comparable to a GTX460.

Nice score with those HD6850's.

Don't bother lying. We all know that 470's debut'd at around $350 and your precious sandy that you snuggle at night goes for $225.
He's photoshopping results now? His scores are even more moot pointless showing off now. It doesn't matter how cheap he got them for, because the current retail prices are ALOT more.

Exactly the same of what I got out of it. LOL!
EDIT looks like the intel fanboy trolls trash yet another AMD thread on the #$%#ing AMD SIDE OF THE FORUM.

This, unless we're talking HD 6990 or GTX 590 (well, 1 card, 2 GPU cores so depends on how you count GPU's, I guess). I wonder how the discussion became this long and turned to talk of GTX 470 SLI, etc, given from the first post, it looks as if he's got a pretty good balance between his CPU and GPU. I'm assuming the OP doesn't game at 1024x768. Then again, any bottlenecking at that resolution is artificial.
