iPhone , BlackBerry or Android? - Page 4

I had Galaxy S, iPhone 3GS, 2G, Blackberry 9700 and now HTC HD7. As far as using stock features and how the phone works WP7 is so much better then all. Its basically a sucked up iOS. The only thing its lacking is jailbreaking which for most people is not important. Android in the other hand can do a lot more things but in the end of the day intensive stuff will kill off battery and they are not known to last that long. After using all 4 OSes as far as stock goes WP7 hand down. If you want to play around and have a PC in ur pocked its Android, Apple can and much more Apps support iPhone 4, BB is you are suing it for extreme text and business. Lol i cant tell you have smooth WP7 feels.

Android is my vote. I carry an iPhone and a Captivate on me at all times because the iPhone was given to me by my employer for business use and when comparing them, there really is no comparison for me. My Captivate is snappier, looks better, feels better, has all the apps I'll ever need, and if I get bored with a ROM then I'll get on XDA and find another. You'll be very happy with an Android phone without a doubt.

I've gotten so used to the keyboard layout that I can actually text pretty well without looking.

To OP, I would try them out and see what you like the best. I have an iPhone 3GS and I really like it. The iPhones have excellent build quality. The android phones for the most part don't have quite the same build quality, but there are a few very nice ones. With iOS you don't have to worry about an app working on your phone. If it's on the app store, it will work. Android has some fragmentation problems since different phones have different specs and different versions of android, but you probably won't have any issues. iOS is extremely smooth, but I've heard the latest versions of android are as well. To me the only real advantage I see of the iPhone over android is iTunes integration, but that is just personal preference. It all boils down to personal preference. Go to a store and mess around with them. Find the one you like the best. Good luck!

Edit: One more thing about iPhone, free texting apps! Android probably has them too though... lol

I would stay away from Motorola phones as they locked down to hell. Your freedom is cut dramatically with a Motorola device. I recommend Android on HTC and Samsung phones. iPhone 4 is a good device, its very fast and stable. iPhone 4's that are jailbroken have a lot of freedom as well. iPhone 4 handles media better and more organized than Android imo. I absolutely despise blackberry and can't touch those phone without throwing them.

BTW I own a Droid X

Also, you don't have to use itunes with iphone you can sync apps/movies/music through 3rd party apps and transfer them wirelessly over wifi as well.

My roommate has a droid x and the UI is much slower and no where near as fluid as even my iphone 3gs. Same with another roommate that has an android phone (don't remember model off the top of my head) and it's even slower..
Exactly ,

If jailbroken , iPhone 4 is way better IMO. It's fluid as hell... Won't even talk about Android fluidity... Customization is about equal if you jailbreak it..

Apps are good , same thing for Android although there is more on the app store.

Blackberry if you need the secure email.

Android if you like customizing an open source format

iPhone if you like A LOT of games/applications to choose from.

I saw the OP mention the need for an iPod. I'd like to point out, my Galaxy S has completely replaced my old iPod. I saw someone mention the iPhone being underpowered... that isn't true. What IS true is that the current top end Android phones are MORE powerful.

If you use Winamp, it can basically take the place of iTunes as the Android version integrates with the Windows version.

Thread Starter
Okay skimmed over the posts and basically, I just need something to text with, calls, internet, maybe some games and overall I need a iPod so basically a phone with a good media player that wont kill the battery when multitasking. I never use email, I personally wouldnt customize the hell out of my phone since I'm not stuck to it like alot of teenage people are.

I decided I dont want a blackberry. Since nothing really I need.

So its between the iPhone 4 or a Android phone if someone could recommend me a good one.

Thanks !

Who's your carrier, or are you buying the phone outright?

If you're not going to root/customize, go with the iPhone 4.
