Another 800D Work log (Stealth + Water Cooling) - Page 2

Sorry about nothing happening, I've got mid-semester exams and some assignments at the moment so the PC needed to go on the back-burner for a little bit. However, I am ordering the parts, except the GFX Waterblocks today, so hopefully they turn up tomorrow and I can get some work done over the weekend (who does assignments until the day they are due, right?).

Well, picked up my case, and changed my mind on the graphics cards, picked up 2 new EVGA 580s (one Superclocked) for $504 (normal) and $502 (superclocked) that I'm going to whack in there instead.

This build should be good! Question though, the san ace's that you linked to are model # 109P1224H101, but the one that everyone raves about is the San Ace 9G1212H1011. What's the difference?

Edit: Figured out the main difference, the fans you linked to are 24V DC not 12V DC. Does this mean they aren't viable for normal computer usage?

I believe that the 101s are the newer version and are essentially the same. I think they are both 24V, but again, I just read that they were a good fan, and I would want to sort-of run them at 12V anyway to keep the noise down (again, I have read that they undervolt well, but I won't be able to confirm any performance/noise 'till they arrive (hopefully soon)).

Ok, some pics of the monstrous case, and one sleeved 6+2 pin...
Attachment 207308Attachment 207309
Yeah, there's a lot of space in there, plenty of space for me to do whatever I want, lets just hope I can find a way to fit my 240mm TFC rad in the bottow without too much trouble.

Okay, my first 6+2 pin sleeved up. Keep in mind this is my first time sleeving (except the 24 pin, will upload pics later when I turn the comp off some time). The aim is for it to be neat and easy to manage at both ends so it's one bunch at the PSU end and individual where visible in the main part of the case. The transition from 1 to 8 is behind the mobo tray. Handily the cables ended up about 60cm (2 feet) length which is exactly what I wanted, no need to cut them shorter!
Attachment 207310Attachment 207311Attachment 207312

EDIT. WOW! The camera really shows up the colour of the cable insulation underneath on that Venomous sleeving. Can't see it in the case though. Oh, and the big bunch part is wrapped in black electrical tape so you can't see any colour through either.

Also, I'm an idiot and bought 24V fans, and I can now confirm, they do not undervolt well enough to run at 12V... In fact, 2 of them are now dead

On another note, I am now also getting a new CPU and MoBo, and RAM, and leaving the current setup as a folding rig in the old case!

Yeah I'm a bit annoyed with myself for that, lol.

The Folding Rig will be good so it doesn't get slowed down when I want to game... or get hung and drop a 2684 WU at 93% like it did yesterday when I was playing some DoW2...

Always looking for more ideas for my 800D, they really are beastly! Looks great so far, can't wait to see finished results.
